Lea and Roy Black hosted The Blacks’ Annual Gala Saturday night benefitting The Consequences Charity and their programs with Teach for America, Breakthrough Miami and Big Dreams for Kids among others. The city’s most prestigious, star-studded charity event returned for its 19th year beginning with red carpet arrivals followed by a Grey Goose Vodka cocktail reception, gourmet dinner, both silent and live auctions as well as superstar performances by Taylor Hicks and Flo Rida. Guests ended the night dancing to the beats of DJ Trouble and Whi5ker5 with the Illbots.
Celebrity guests in attendance included Lea & Roy Black, Real Housewives of Miami; Gabrielle Anwar, Burn Notice; Lance Bass, pop singer formerly with ‘N Sync; Helio Castroneves, three-time IndyCar Racing Champion; Jonathan Cheban, reality show star; Bernard Hopkins, Middleweight Champion of the World; Lisa & Lenny Hochstein, Real Housewives of Miami; Joanna Krupa and Romain Zago, Real Housewives of Miami; Karent Sierra, Real Housewives of Miami; Sammy Sosa, baseball legend; Inés Rivero, supermodel; Dennis Rodman, basketball icon; Elaine Lancaster; Sofia Milos, actress; and others. “This year’s gala was one of our best! The performances were over the top. We are very grateful to the guests for their support of a cause that benefits so many teens that have so little,” said Lea.
Live and silent auction items had the crowd bidding feverishly throughout the night for Jeffrey Rackover jewelry, a walk-on role in an upcoming Michael Bay movie, a one year lease on a 2013 all-new body style Range Rover courtesy of Land Rover North and South Dade, a Hublot watch donated by Rick & Martha De La Croix, and more.

The Consequences Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) organization founded by Real Housewives of Miami’s Lea Black on a mission to provide preventative intervention in lieu of incarceration by offering educational resources and experiences for at-risk youth that include scholarships, vocational training, camps, workshops and after school activities encompassing dynamic curriculums that address culture, the arts, life skills, career aptitude discovery and workforce preparation.
